# Connecting multiple top-level GitLab groups to a single workspace

1. Make sure you already have a GitLab workspace connected to Aikido.
2. Make sure you are the workspace 'owner' of that Aikido workspace. You can only be made owner by contacting our support via the chat button bottom right.
3. Make sure that a GitLab PAT has been set via <https://app.aikido.dev/onboarding/gitlab/update-workspace-access-token>. **This token should have access to all GitLab groups you want to link so make sure it is linked to a user that has this access.**
4. Once you are on the Aikido feed of the current connected GitLab workspace, go to <https://app.aikido.dev/onboarding/gitlab/connect-multiple-groups>
5. Select the groups you'd like to link to the current Aikido workspace and click 'Save'
6. Aikido will now import the accessible repositories of all linked GitLab groups. This can take a few seconds.
7. Select the repositories you'd like to scan and click 'Next'.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.aikido.dev/code-scanning/connect-your-source-code/connect-gitlab-account-to-aikido/connecting-multiple-top-level-gitlab-groups-to-a-single-workspace.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
